Sometimes we hear this word and still think there is a negative to it. Let me tell you, it’s all about what kind of fat we are talking about :) There are various kinds and I want to focus on the healthy kind.

Eating your healthy fats? You should... these fats have two names. Monounsaturated fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids are healthful.

To go a little deeper, omega 6 and omega 3’s are two of the most well known polyunsaturated fats. These can only be eaten through food or taken internally as our bodies do not naturally produce them.

25/30 % of your intake should be about healthy fat. Why?

1. They can REDUCE the risk of heart disease

2. Increase your HDL (good cholesterol) and lower LDL (bad cholesterol

3. Boost mood

4. Reduce inflammation

5. Help fight fatigue by keeping you fuller longer

6. Increase brain function and protect vital organs

7. Help you LOOSE weight

To name a few of the healthy fats that are in my daily routine... Avocados, olive oil, avocado oil, raw nuts, salmon, flaxseed, chia seed, organic nut butters, organic whole eggs, olives :)

Tip... try and incorporate a serving of healthy fat in at least 3 of your meals/ snacks a day.

Cheers to health 🥑
